About BMASS

Our story, our people, our purpose

A community built to preserve Benin heritage and to support one another, generation after generation.

Connecting and empowering the Benin community in Massachusetts through culture, unity, service, and fellowship.

Who We Are

A heritage carried across the ocean

The Benin Club of Massachusetts was founded by sons and daughters of Edo State who settled in the Boston area and wished to keep their identity, language and traditions alive far from home. What began as a handful of families gathering for fellowship has grown into a vibrant, organized community.

Today BMASS is a registered cultural organization that hosts cultural festivals, supports members in times of celebration and need, mentors young people, and convenes an annual convention that draws Benin families from across the region.

Our objectives are simple and enduring: preserve our culture, strengthen our bonds, develop our youth, and serve our community — in Massachusetts and back home in Edo.
